At Heritage, we carry a large collection of native art, carefully selected by our knowledgeable staff. Whether you are looking for a discrete piece of art for yourself, or looking for that perfect gift, there is something for everyone to enjoy and appreciate.
Our carefully selected pieces reflect the complex tradition of carving among the Inuit. All sculptures are hand carved by some of Canada's best known Inuk artists. Popular themes include the "Inukshuk" and the "Dancing Bear" and despite several interpretations of them by various artists, they are all each unique in their own way.
Six Nations Art
The art and sculpture of the Six Nations is perhaps not as well known as that of the Inuit, though it is equally accomplished. Distinct by its earthly colors, the sculptures are dominated by motifs from the traditional mythology of the Six Nations. The "Eagle", either standing alone or accompagnied, and the "Corn Mother" remain amongst the most popular themes.
